Women: Bearcats lose


Charlotte 67, UC 62

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The loss was UC's second straight, as the Bearcats fell to 16-5 (6-2 Conference USA).

Charlotte remained undefeated in league play at 7-0, 15-5 overall.

K.B. Sharp led UC with 17 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. Carolyn Alexander added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Debbie Merrill and Valerie King each scored 12.

The 49ers broke open a 49-49 game with a 7-0 run that ended with five minutes remaining.
