Huggins moved to Christ Hospital
Good sign: He's complaining

At least Bob Huggins is back in Cincinnati now. The University of Cincinnati basketball coach was in the cardiac care unit at Christ Hospital on Wednesday, in serious but stable condition.
He met with cardiologist Dr. Dean Kereiakes, who is overseeing the evaluation process. Kereiakes did not release a statement regarding Huggins' condition.
I was with him for about an hour tonight, athletic director Bob Goin said Wednesday night. It was just (Huggins' wife) June and Bobby and I. He's complaining; that's a good sign. That's the Huggs we've learned to love and cherish.
Huggins was transported by jet ambulance from Beaver, Pa., to Lunken Airport, then by ground ambulance to Christ Hospital, arriving around 9:30 a.m. The flight took 37 minutes, Goin said.
He's resting well and has been evaluated, said Dona Buckler, media relations spokesperson for the hospital. He's in the same condition as he was in Pittsburgh.
She said it might have been misleading when Huggins Huggins was upgraded to stable condition while at The Medical Center, Beaver, where he was treated after suffering a massive heart attack Saturday at the Pittsburgh International Airport.
Stable is not a condition, Buckler said, it just means the vital signs are stable. The four conditions used by Christ are critical, serious, fair and good. Huggins was in Beaver recovering from a non-surgical procedure during which a stent was inserted to clear a clogged artery.
He's going through some tests and getting some assessments and making sure that the numbers that they sent from Beaver match the numbers that they have here, Goin said.
He looks fine. He's just got some hurdles that he's got to get over.
UC president Dr. Joseph Steger visited Huggins Wednesday afternoon.
The Huggins family is asking that instead of sending flowers to Huggins, donations be made to the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky chapter of the American Heart Association.
The question of when Huggins can return to coaching remains unanswered.
Meanwhile, the UC athletic department is going ahead with plans to hold Breakfast with Bob on Oct. 12, the first day NCAA Division I basketball teams are allowed to practice, instead of Midnight Madness festivities.
With or without him, Goin said. But I'm not betting that he won't be there, knowing him.
Doors will open at 8 a.m. and an autograph session will start at 9 a.m., followed by an introduction of the 2002-03 Bearcats, some drills and a brief scrimmage beginning at 9:45 a.m.
Admission is free, and there will be free continental breakfast food.
A UC basketball poster will be handed out. The band, cheerleaders and dance team also will participate.
