Steve Logan was back at the University of Cincinnati on Wednesday, but not for classes. His full-time job, for now, is to prepare for the NBA draft.

Meeting the media to talk about his plans, Logan made it a point to say he intends to complete his social sciences degree.

“That's a commitment I've got to my grandmother,” the UC senior guard said. “I've got about a semester left. I'll get that degree.”

Logan isn't in school for the spring quarter. He said he has spent most of his time in Washington, D.C., working out twice a day with former pro Adrian Dantley. Logan has signed with D.C.-based agent Bill Strickland, who has represented such players as Rasheed Wallace, Chris Webber and Allan Houston.

Logan will participate in the Chicago pre-draft camp June 4-7. He has been projected most often as a late first-round or early second-round draftee.

“I know I've got a shot at the first round,” he said.

What does he plan to work on in preparation for the pros?

“I've gotta step it up on the defensive end and ... be more of a passer, distribute the ball more,” Logan said. “I'm not looking to score unless needed.”
