Logan tabbed best 6-and-under

Steve Logan has won another national player of the year award. The Cincinnati senior guard has been named the Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award winner, honoring the nation's outstanding senior male collegian 6 feet or under.

The award, named in honor of Dr. James Naismith's daughter-in-law, was selected by a panel of representatives from the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The recipient must demonstrate leadership, character, loyalty and all-around basketball ability.
The 6-foot Logan, a consensus All-American, also has been named national player of the year by CNN/SI, FoxSports.com and CollegeInsider.com. He also is one of five finalists for the Wooden Award, which will be announced April 7.
Logan and Xavier's David West earned All-American recognition Tuesday from two more media outlets.
Logan earned first-team honors from The Sporting News and Basketball America, while both magazines named West to their third team.
LOOKING AHEAD: Within hours of the completion of Monday night's championship game, ESPN.com already had released its early projection of next season's Top 25. UC is picked No.17, with the top five being Arizona, Kansas, Oklahoma, Duke and Texas. XU is unranked.
Dick Vitale's predictions have Kansas, Arizona, Connecticut, Kentucky and Duke as the top five, with UC and XU unranked.
