Buckeyes play UC Sept. 21 at PBS

By Gary Estwick
The Cincinnati Enquirer

The Cincinnati Bearcats will open their 2002 schedule by hosting four of their first five games, including Ohio State Sept.21 at Paul Brown Stadium. Then the Bearcats will play four of their next five games on the road.

UC hasn't hosted the Buckeyes in football since 1900. And Ohio State hasn't played a road game in the state of Ohio since 1934. The game will be televised on ESPN.

“We'd like to think our Bearcats fans will be the majority on that day,” said UC coach Rick Minter.

UC's opponents posted a combined 73-78 record last season. Four of the teams appeared in postseason games. UC will also travel to defending Conference USA champion Louisville on Nov.9.
