The Cincinnati Bearcats are on the move.
UC, riding an 11-game winning streak in which all the victories were by double digits, vaulted to No.17 in the Associated Press college basketball poll released Monday.
The Bearcats were ranked 25th but made the jump after their convincing championship in the Las Vegas Classic in which they swept four games by an average of 30.5 points.
UC, which lost its opener at now fifth-rated Oklahoma State, has five victories in the past nine days.
The Bearcats had jumped to No.20 in the USA Today/ESPN poll.
Also, guard Steve Logan was named the Conference USA player of the week for the second straight week Monday.
Logan scored a career- high 40 points against previously undefeated Mississippi State last Thursday. He averaged 29.3 points per game and was named the Las Vegas Classic MVP.
He shot 62.5 percent from the field, including 60 percent from 3-point range.
For the season Logan is averaging 23.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game.
The Bearcats next play Saturday against Akron in the Rock-N-Roll Shootout in Cleveland (6 p.m., Channel 19).
Kentucky, which lost to top-ranked Duke in overtime before beating Indiana Saturday, moved up a spot to No.6 in the AP poll.
The Wildcats, 7-2, next play host to former coach Rick Pitino and his Louisville team Saturday.
Also in the AP poll, unbeaten Duke remained a unanimous No.1 for the fourth straight week, and Butler, formerly coached by Xavier's Thad Matta, was ranked for the first time since the 1948-49 season.
