Guidugli named UC MVP
Freshman quarterback Gino Guidugli was named Most Valuable Player at the annual UC football banquet Sunday.
The Highlands High School product started the final 10 games of the season, leading the Bearcats to a 7-3 mark over that span and a berth in the Motor City Bowl Dec.29 against Mid-American Conference champion Toledo.
Guidugli became just the third UC quarterback to throw for more than 2,500 yards in a season, completing 185-of-317 passes for 2,572 yards and 16 touchdowns. He recorded four 300-yard games, including a 348-yard effort at Memphis, the 10th highest game total in UC history.

John Pease Award (Outstanding lineman): Antwan Peek on defense and Josh Shneyderov on offense.
Newcomers of the Year: Safety Doug Monaghan and Guidugli.
Jim Kelly Coaches' Spirit Awards: RB Nathan Wize, WR Tim Walker, DE Derrick Adams and LB Willis Edwards.
Outstanding Receiver: LaDaris Vann.
Special Teams Player of the Year: P Brad Wulfeck.
