UC awaits Maxiell's eligibility
The University of Cincinnati continues to wait to see if its top incoming recruit, Jason Maxiell, will have the grades to be eligible as a freshman.
Maxiell has said he does. But Brian Mand, UC's associate athletic director for compliance, said he's not sure if Maxiell's transcripts from Newman Smith High School in Carrollton, Texas, have yet been sent to the NCAA Clearinghouse.
As of last week, they hadn't.
The 6-foot-7 power forward is taking summer-school classes at UC.
