Little charged in bar incident
Arrest warrant issued for former center
An assault arrest warrant has been issued for former University of Cincinnati basketball player Donald Little.
Little is charged in connection with a May 3 incident at In the Woods Tavern in Clifton Heights. In an affidavit, bar employee Jennifer L. Hemmelgarn said Little kicked her in the ribs after she confronted him for not wearing a wristband while drinking a beer.
Little was dismissed from the team Saturday by head coach Bob Huggins. (Story)
The dismissal came hours after Little was arrested by the Boone County Sheriff's Department on Interstate 75 and charged with speeding in a work zone, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, driving under a suspended license and possession of marijuana.
According to Hemmelgarn's affidavit, the 22-year-old Little gave her his ID, but when she asked him to get a wristband he knocked a bottle out of her hand. Little kicked her in the ribs and tried to drag her onto the floor as she tried to crawl under the bar, she said.
Police had not arrested Little as of late Monday.
