UC volleyball team gains NCAA berth

The University of Cincinnati volleyball team was selected Sunday for its second straight NCAA appearance, third overall.

UC will play Notre Dame in Columbus at 5 p.m. Friday.

“This is a great opportunity for our program,” coach Reed Sunahara said. “Receiving an at-large bid shows how much respect this team has across the country.”

UC (24-9, 14-2 C-USA) won the American Division of Conference USA.

It will be the first meeting between UC and Notre Dame since 1984.

Xavier (23-8) didn't make the tournament.
