Peek to play basketball

By Michael Perry
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Antwan Peek, a defensive end on the University of Cincinnati football team, practiced with the Bearcats basketball team Monday. Coach Bob Huggins said Peek will dress for tonight's game against Marshall and could play.

The 6-foot-2 Peek, a Woodward High School graduate, was unavailable for comment after practice.

Junior forward Antwan Jones, who is recovering from foot surgery, has been cleared to play, and he practiced five-on-five drills Monday for the first time. Athletic trainer Jayd Grossman said Jones might be able to play tonight, though Jones said he probably would not.

“It's sore because I haven't been running on it in a while,” Jones said. “It all depends on how I feel (today).”

Said Grossman: “It's going to be a day-by-day thing.”
