Guard Madinah Slaise, the second-leading scorer in University of Cincinnati women's basketball history, was selected by the Detroit Shock in the second round of the WNBA draft Tuesday.
Slaise, taken with the 28th pick overall, will find Detroit's backcourt crowded. The Shock had two first-round picks and used both on guards: Texas' Edwina Brown (third overall) and Louisiana Tech's Tamicha Jackson (eighth overall).
Slaise averaged 21.8 points and 5.6 rebounds for the Bearcats last season and scored 1,849 points in her career.
