UC's road to the title game
FIRST ROUND
UNC Wilmington (18-12): The Seahawks are just the type of opponent UC doesn't need determined to keep the score low, dedicated to physical defense and well-coached.
SECOND ROUND
Tulsa (29-4): Tulsa is the most balanced team in the tournament, but lost three times to Fresno State. Good thing Jerry Tarkanian is a close friend of Bob Huggins.
SWEET 16
Ohio State (22-6): The Buckeyes' spread attack is difficult to defend, and this group has already been to the Final Four.
ELITE EIGHT
Stanford (26-3): Freshman Casey Jacobsen is a dazzling wing scorer, but its defense has struggled in the past two weeks.
FINAL FOUR
Duke (27-4): No.1 in the East for the second straight year.
TITLE GAME
Michigan St. (26-7) or Arizona (26-6): Spartans took the No.1 seed in Midwest that UC coveted; Wildcats, like UC, hit hard by injury (center Loren Woods out).
