Ex-Steeler to coach UC linemen

BY TOM GROESCHEN
The Cincinnati Enquirer

The Bearcats will hire former Pittsburgh Steelers star Keith Willis to coach its defensive line, according to UC sources.

Willis, 39, spent the past four years as defensive line coach at Slippery Rock University, Pa. He spent most of his 12-year NFL career with the Steelers during the 1980s, and is third on Pittsburgh's career sacks list with 59. Only L.C. Greenwood (73.5) and Mean Joe Greene (66.0) rank ahead of Willis on the Pittsburgh sacks chart.

Willis also played for Buffalo, Washington, and the New York Jets. At UC he will replace Greg Karpinsky, who was not rehired.
