Slaise wins C-USA honor




        UC junior guard Madinah Slaise was named Conference USA player of the week.

        Slaise scored 25 points in UC's 65-61 OT win against Xavier and 33 points in a 70-61 win over Louisville. She leads the Bearcats in scoring (20.0 ppg) and steals (2.7 spg).

        Slaise set the school record for consecutive free throws when she sank 29 straight between Feb. 4 and Feb. 10.

        UC (19-6 overall, 11-3 C-USA) is in sole possession of first place in the league and have clinched a first-round bye in the C-USA Tournament. The Bearcats are ranked 27th by AP.
