Levett's injury won't bench him

Melvin Levett is expected to play in the Bearcats' game Sunday at Saint Louis after being diagnosed with a sprained left ankle.
Levett was hurt with just over seven minutes to play in Wednesday's loss to Marquette when he planted his foot while defending against a drive by guard Brian Wardle. His leg buckled, and Levett was unable to continue.
X-rays taken Thursday were negative. Trainer Jayd Grossman expects Levett, who became the 37th UC player to reach 1,000 career points, to play against the Billikens.
Freshman forward Eugene Land also was injured in the game when he landed badly on his right knee. He had a precautionary MRI taken, but the results won't be available until today. Angelo Colosimo, UC's team orthopedist, lists Land as questionable for the Saint Louis game.
